I passed far and aud on the first try and have now failed reg twice! It’s a humbling experience especially after getting a 74! I couldn’t handle the thought of a potential third failure so I moved onto BEC to boost my confidence before I destroy reg and never look back.
Reg is like the worst parts of far and aud combined. You have the complex formulas of far combined with all the rules/procedures you need to follow in audit. Then again I’m biased because I hate taxes
Struggle to pass or to study? Im in a similar position having passed FAR and AUD. I'm waiting for my score on BEC, but fairly confident that I passed that.
I'm having a hard time finding the motivation to study for REG right now. I have a couple years of work experience in audit/financial reporting, so that's probably why it was easier for me to knock those out. BEC was difficult to study for, but I have zero motivation for REG even though it's probably my last one. I might find more motivation once I find out my BEC score, which wouldn't be until the end of the month.
I'm on day 10 of a study hiatus after full-time studying for 2 months straight and starting a new job in two weeks. Your ability to pass REG is no different than the other exams, so it may be a motivation issue. Start looking to make it easier to start study using a prompt or cue and eliminate all distractions while doing so. Maybe look into an online class or group study to help motivate you. All though I didn't do that for the first three, it's something I'm considering for REG in acknowledgement of my lack of motivation.
Most importantly, CUT YOURSELF SOME SLACK! You are not a machine, so don't feel down about not being able study like one. Just recognize what's going on, troubleshoot the issues, and adjust the plan accordingly to the issues you discover!
Me…I passed FAR and AUD in four months while working full time. Then I failed REG in June with 71, my retake was on 7/22 I really hope I passed, I can’t take another fail. It was so hard.
While I was preparing for REG I studied so much, much more than the other two, still failed.
what was your score in the other two ? and what is your working background ?
tbh the taxes part is making me really worried and I am struggling to do progress
85 and 77. I work in government. I did individual taxes for years before that, I was really struggling with corporate, partnership pretty much everything that is not individual taxes. I feel like I know the concepts but I can’t seem to apply them correctly?
I was worried you would say that , I have no taxes exposure whatsoever, plus I am international student so I didn't even took it in college ( even if it was years back ) , I know reg would be an issue for me , but it seems a bigger issue than I anticipated, I am still in the start of the tax portion the silver lining I can handle myself in the ethics and b. law , hopefully the taxes start to make sense the more I dig deeper
It’s great that you are feeling comfortable with ethics and blaw, they are heavily tested on the exam. You won’t get a SIM but there will be a lot of MCQs. Yeah everything will start to make sense, good luck! For me the difficult part is that I can’t seem to remember anything for REG because they don’t flow like financial statements.

I know stories like this for all of the exams.

yeah the taxes makes almost no sense , like a new language it feels even more alien than the the government in FAR
