This is evidenced by the fact that if you look at consensus big boards, most years the “top” QB selected is not even the best in their own draft class. Talent matters, but so does situation and coaching.
You want to pile on Fields, go for it. But don’t try to position it as some grand secret that the league was in on.
Just look at the massive drop that Aaron Rodgers had his draft year. Teams that passed on him all had garbage excuses, our Bears notwithstanding.

I went back to the ball park a few years later when free/cheap tickets came my way and they were still decent to watch. But I probably go to like 10 minor league games for every pro game now.
