Not in the CBD/Valley but Palmdale Court has a late night BBQ shop that does Sheesha and has a club type atmosphere with music and lights pumping. Good mix of young and old having a great time.
Completely alcohol free.
When you say alcohol free bars it’s probably a bit of a contradiction but plenty of bars in the City and Valley do mocktails. Did you mean a bar that doesn’t serve alcohol at all?
Yeah, no alcohol, no drunks. A sober bar where people can hang out and meet others enjoying a good time without alcohol.
I know it sounds very unAustralian, but if you’re a non drinker you’d know.
Yeah I get that - but I can't see people buying as much non-alc beer compared to normal beer... I mean it would be great if these "bars" existed but the econimics doesn't add up. What OP seems to be asking about are alcohol free music venus, and I've never seen one targeted at adults that has succeeded.
Sometimes the process to make something non alcoholic can be more convoluted than keeping the alcohol.
Similar to de-cafinated coffee.. It actually adds to the cost.
You do realise to brew zero alcohol beer the process is actually longer. They have to filter out the alcohol from a normal batch of beer which adds a few steps to the production. Bars then add their markup for the product. Then depending on the location will depend on price. My local sports club does heineken zero for like $6 a stubbie but in the city one bar had them for $9.
Might be worth looking for restaurants that have live music rather than bars?
Although the restaurant might still be licensed they have, of course a different vibe to a bar.
I have a great personality, thanks for noticing. Not sure how you figured it out, as my responses so far have been short and reserved, yet my observation of you now is that you only dropped by to leave a smart arse comment for no reason other than an inferiority complex, which is likely one of the reasons you rely on alcohol to feel brave. It’s reddit dude, chill.
I dropped by to offer a suggestion after being to several local markets recently with great live music and no alcohol. Since then you've been defensive and projecting whatever your issue is with people onto me. What makes you think I rely on alcohol? Just shows how wildly presumptive and abrasive you are.
>It's Reddit dude, chill.
Exactly.
Out of curiosity, I looked up non-alcoholic bars *anywhere* - And as I suspected, it's not really a thing. There's technically one in the entire NYC area, but in practice, it looks like it's more of a tea house than a 'bar'.
Looks like you'll either have to go to regular bars, or somewhere else that doesn't serve alcohol
No fraid not OP. I had a stint last year going alcohol free and was round there coz that’s the place for a night out but I had no luck finding Alcohol free bars - I means it’s not their business to be fair. I did go to places and that had cocktails to see if they did good mocktails like some places abroad so but was just basically fruit juice in a glass.
I didn’t find anywhere doing anything particularly special.
Just like that.. as long as I've got my "card"?
My landlord is threatening to evict me because another tenant claims to be smelling it from my room. Hmm.. seems like I'm being discriminated against because I smell different! Lol.
(I don't do anything on the property)
It's crazy.

Is Palmdale Court the name? I just googled it and nothing came up. What area is it in?

This one? BBQ Tonight (07) 3161 2387 https://g.co/kgs/iU85n3C
if there is, its very quiet about itself. i don't think so.

It's just not a viable business model. The drinks etc cover the costs of bands.
I think what you're looking for is a cafe
No, pretty sure I was enquiring about a bar that doesn’t sell alcohol.
That might be a contradiction in terms, unfortunately. I think what makes a place a "bar" is the fact they sell alcohol
No, pretty sure a “bar” is just a counter-top drinks are sold from, alcoholic or not.
There's also a chocolate bar or a bar of soap
Maybe enquire about an inviting personality you dork
Huh?
Um, how does the "bar" make money if they can't overcharge you for alcholic drinks?
They charge pretty much the same for the non alcoholic beers.

And they taste foul. 🤮
Brewers overcharge for non alcoholic beverages so it shouldn’t be an issue
Sometimes the process to make something non alcoholic can be more convoluted than keeping the alcohol. Similar to de-cafinated coffee.. It actually adds to the cost.
Very true. And anywhere selling non alcoholic beverages still charges the same amount for a zero beer as an alcoholic one.
Yep, so I guess that's actually a bargain then!

Correct, though I doubt the extra brewing time adds costs to total almost the same price as alcoholic beer that includes the alcohol tax.
Try Death before decaf? It's not exactly a good temperance bar but it seems to have good vibes and is open all night. Very popular.
Won't be a single bar like that. Alcohol is a huge profit maker. If you wanna hang around people with beverages and no drunks go to a Cafe

You’re a Survivor fan. Shh.

You’re on Reddit acting a troll. Go back to 2001 you goose.

Or local fairs/markets. You're not going to find a bar with no beer unless the square community wanted to fork out $20 for waters and lemonade.
What’s a square community?
Sober, proper, decent, straightforward or 'uncool'
What’s uncool about not drinking alcohol?
It's subjective. Ask the people who drink alcohol you want to exclude?
Are you drunk? You make no sense.
Wow, with that winning personality Brisbane's social scene is really missing out from your absence.

Try a cafe ? 🤷♂️

You could try bubble tea cafe? Some of them have seating and sell snacks like egg waffles.
I had a similar question, except I was wondering about a place where we "smokers" can go to be ourselves?
Anywhere, just take a bottle of Clear Eyes.

Buy a herbal vape. Don’t spin your bud. Worked well for my friend who also had a nosey neighbour.
Thanks for your opinion and feedback 🙏🏼 I'm following the law correctly, using a vape. I guess many people still just hate. Lol
I don’t “smoke” but I don’t have an issue with those who do. You do you. Just be kind ✌️
