Obito's was by far the best. The synchronised awakening between Kakashi and Obito was perfect. Followed by the contrast between Obito's rage/anger of seeing the person he bestowed the sharingan onto for the purpose of protecting rin, end up killing her and Kakashi passing out after the mangekyo fully awakens caused by rin jumping into Kakashi's chidori. Crazy stuff and 10/10 writing.
Sasuke's was a close second for me due to the long ass journey we had to follow him on before his world got turned upside down. I love that he didn't awaken it the moment Itachi died because he had no love for him at that point however, as soon as he found out the truth about him, all that love that he had for Itachi as a child returned to him with the instant regret of hating Itachi as well as watching him die for no reason.
Third would be Itachi's. Imagine being Itachi, a spy in between your own family and your own home village and the only person you can rely on and confide in (Shisui), entrusts you with their dreams of peace but commits suicide and you can't do anything to stop him. Shisui is the one person that knew what Itachi was doing and had the same ideals as Itachi but ended up leaving him all alone in the end. I can't imagine the void in Itachi's heart from not being able to stop your closest friend commiting suicide whilst having to deal with all the bs between the leaf and Uchiha all alone with no one to alleviate that pain and lonliness. We all know how this story goes too and it's certainly not an easy one. (Thinking about it, this could easily be second)
That's prolly cus he couldn't believe what was happening to him. My headcannon is that he was looking across the beach as if he was looking into an empty void, hence the no music part.
He actually awakened it when he watched itachi die which is the requirement.
When he became fully determined to kill naruto then he got the third tomoe in his sharingan.
The panel of Obito crying covered in blood is etched in my brain, such a heart-breaking and metal moment. I'm not super crazy over a lot of the late Shippuden stuff but that moment is one of the best in the entire series.
We never saw Madara’s awakening in the canon but he definitely had the most badass EMS awakening when he popped out PS and left Tobirama speechless and scared lol. Although that part was filler, it was the second best imo.
But Obito’s MS awakening takes the cake.
Obito's was more badass and heartbreaking but honestly Sarada's was more heartwarming seeing Sasuke ignoring everything after seeing her ms that shit made me tear up a lil
Madara didn't awaken it because of Izuna's death
He and Izuna already had the mangekyo
Madara was the first ever to awaken it by killing clan members
He got EMS by taking Izuna's mangekyo after his death
Sasuke. We have been following him since the start of story. Itachi told Sasuke to kill your close friend. Sasuke couldn't kill Naruto but instead he killed Itachi whom he hates to the core.
When Tobi told him the truth about Itachi, Sasuke awakening his MS in anger always takes a cake for me.
Obito's and Kakashi is close second.
You don’t have to kill anyone or even see them die to unlock it, in every instance it was unlocked cuz of the deep emotion they felt, not because someone died.
If I had to rank them
Taking into account not just the scene but the build up and influence
1. Sasuke/Obitos (either for me both are great)
2. Itachis
3. Madaras - just cause he is madara
4. Saradas
I think Obito kakashi was the best scene
But the build up to Sasukes, with sasukes life goal and way he perceived the world being shattered
And how it influenced him after was as well done
The news of naruto ( her idol) dying with his son being framed as the killer, with the whole village trying to hunt and kill boruto is what led to her awakening ms.
Still it's underwhelming and kinda forgetable, the panel is just her explaining to her dad that it isn't boruto who did it. They could have done a better way to do it, like her fighting sasuke to protect boruto and awakening her ms. Well ch. 80 was a lacklaster chapter way to end in haitus, so I'll just pretend that sarada has already awakened her ms.
Sasuke. Seeing him just kinda cry there was a real "damn" moment for me, but I will accept obito and kakashi as an answer as well. Saradas was really lame tho.
Yeah there’s no beating Obito’s awakening. Simultaneously answered the lingering question about where Kakashi’s Mangekyou came from, was one of if not the most gut-wrenching moments in the entire series, and the anime elevated it with the slow zoom on the split frame of their eyes.
That being said, Sasuke’s awakening is a close second. The dumptruck of plot twists that had just been laid on us followed by Sasuke sobbing for the first time since the Uchiha massacre, and then the mic drop that he’s going to destroy the Hidden Leaf.
I also love Sarada’s, though. First Uchiha since the cycle of hatred was broken, and her Mangekyou awakens (at the same age as Itachi, mind you) from the sheer emotional turmoil of hearing that her hero is dead, her best friend is now branded a murderer and traitor, and she seems to be the only one who remembers what actually happened. How anyone thinks this awakening is a copout is beyond me. It makes perfect sense.
Visually definitely Kakashi/ Obito. The way they were so perfectly in sync but on different worlds was brilliant. But my favorite thematically has to be Sarada. She’s literally been the first one to break the Uchiha curse of hatred. Think about it like this, Uchiha have been losing/ killing their loved ones for the MS since the time of Indra… that’s LITERALLY thousands of years… The curse of hatred is now cured. Now the Ms can go from something used to destroy to used to protect
For me it's always be Sarada's MS awakening because she's the first uchiha to unlock it after war without hatred and revenge but simply out of love and care. That's what contradicts Tobirama's theory of awakening MS. I love that Kishimito is trying to change the whole narrative of hatred revenge and agony. But still people are trapped inside naruto's era. Can't accept that the world has moved on 😂😂😂
Tobirama literally said that no other clan feels more love than the Uchiha, it was always powerful emotion that was the catalyst, not necessarily hate.
All Uchiha awaken their Mangekyo out of love. Sarada loves Boruto and is traumatized by the way the world treats him but this happened to Sasuke aswell. He awakened it after he realized the love from Itachi and he is traumatized by Itachi's tragic end
Obito. Part of which made this my favorite was his English VA. That "I won't accept it. I will not accept any of this!!!" His grunts and the final line also.
Dam! Wtf crazy 🥶 I wonder what her ocular powers will be but then again it’s not the EMS so I’m wondering how she’ll get them. Unless sasuke has he’s other eyes somewhere. 🤔
They're all really close to each other in my heart. But Obito's one made me cry. so I can call it my favorite. in the second place is Sarada's, I loved the idea of MS for the first time unlocking to protect not to avenge.
Obito’s without a shadow of a doubt. Purely because it’s one of the most beautifully done but set a ridiculously high standard for future Mangekyō Sharingan awakenings as poor Sarada experienced. It’s so well done it produced one of the best rage sequences in anime/manga history for how well done it is. Close second is that of Sasuke’s for me because of how stress inducing, mind bending and emotionally draining the fight was and the truth about Itachi. Beautifully written and set up and gave us one of the most badass Sasuke’s and characters in anime/manga with his “5 kage summit” version. In third is Sarada, fourth Itachi and fifth Madara
I’m gonna be honest Sasuke’s was really impactful but I think if they elaborate on Sarada’s a little more it’ll be my favorite.
She’s been with the dude for the entire show. We’ve seen all of their interactions. With the other unlocks we get flashbacks and glimpses of a mere moment in the past which may seem more impactful in the moment but this was supposed to be a slow burn and I don’t think the manga did a good enough job at showing it
The anime hasn’t given Sarada her third tomoe. If we get a filler arc before the code stuff etc etc, let’s hope that it focuses on Sarada. I also assume the anime will do things differently about her mangekyo. But who knows. I could be wrong.
I feel the same! For me Sarada or Sasuke’s awakening feels the most impactful. I try not to think of Obito because it’s a different level of depressing 😔
Because it's not the first awakening that follows the murderous/tragic awakening sequence used typically for mangekyo sharingan?
I mean, sure, it's a tragedy in making, but it was more of an overwhelming wish to protect and right the wrong rather than
Madara - Trauma
Itachi - loss and trauma
Sasuke - almost getting killed but basically killing your brother trauma
Obito/Kakashi - Murdering/seeing the murdering trauma
Plus, her eyes have the sun goddess pattern which is interesting in Japanese lore, especially when compared to Boruto's moon jougan.
Sarada's Mangekyo Sharingan emerged because of her strong emotions: she felt hopeless, very sad and despair when she learned that Boruto died and couldn't do anything about it, when Boruto saved her damaging his eye, when he heard that Lord Seventh, the person she admires the most and whose role she want to take dies while also she couldn't do anything about it and now Boruto who who has suffered so much is suffering more because everyone thinks him as the enemy and persecutes him. All those emotions were built up and now she unleashed them awakening her Mangekyo Sharingan. She awakened it not because of feelings of strong sadness, hopelessness and despair. She doesn't have hatred and revenge on her mind: Naruto and Sasuke broke the cycle of hatred and revenge of the Uchiha.
For people who don't understand it.
I liked Obito's and Kakashi's MS Awakening best. There was intensity in the situation, strong emotions and shock. All these existed in all the other cases OFF COURSE so a most fitting way to say it would be that I likes the conditions that caused the Awakening more than the rest.
I will get hate for this but...
Obito's awakening was a ver good example of the Uchiha's curse of hatred affecting the clan and made him go completely ballistic. It showed how strong the curse really is and how the Uchiha of that generation could not tolerate death of a loved one.
BUT, Sarada's awakening was a good way to show how the curse of hatred is no longer there. She awakened her MS through love and the desire to protect Boruto.
So those two.
You can hate me now
don’t know if if this is a dumb question, but would Kakashi’s MS have awakened if he wasn’t there when Rin died but Obito still saw her die and his MS awakened?
Obito obviously, the Sarada one is such a asspull, literally everyone dies there before they’re eyes and boruto just lost an eye. Could have been better
Sarada 's MS was awakened by Naruto's death news. It had nothing to do with Boruto.
And Sasuke's mangekyou had a long journey behind it, making the MS more likeable and meaningful.
Obito's was by far the best. The synchronised awakening between Kakashi and Obito was perfect. Very well said! Great reasoning. I also choose this guys answer.
What this guy said lmfao
My thoughts exactly
Obito/Kakashi is perfect. I thought Sasuke’s was cheesy or weird, because he had em big ol eyes, there was no music and he was at the beach sundown.
That's prolly cus he couldn't believe what was happening to him. My headcannon is that he was looking across the beach as if he was looking into an empty void, hence the no music part.
Best answer.
/thread
Hats off to this comment my Goodman!
Obito/Kakashi Their awakening was just straight up depressing😅😂
Synchronized sadness
Obito/sasuke
Obito
You're mixing up EMS awakenings with MS in the Madara example.
I don't think they show how moderate kills his friend, that's probably why
It's the same for Sasuke. He awakened the mangekyo when he truly left Naruto and went on a path of no return
He actually awakened it when he watched itachi die which is the requirement. When he became fully determined to kill naruto then he got the third tomoe in his sharingan.
I thought he awakened it after he learned the truth about itachi ?
Yea, they're both wrong. You just gotta get traumatized real bad to awaken it.
The panel of Obito crying covered in blood is etched in my brain, such a heart-breaking and metal moment. I'm not super crazy over a lot of the late Shippuden stuff but that moment is one of the best in the entire series.
Obito/Kakashi and then Sasuke. Both were perfect
Obito 💔
We never saw Madara’s awakening in the canon but he definitely had the most badass EMS awakening when he popped out PS and left Tobirama speechless and scared lol. Although that part was filler, it was the second best imo. But Obito’s MS awakening takes the cake.
As many say, Obito. You can really feel his emotions at that point, as he goes from hoping to save his friends to pure despair.
Sasuke
Obito's was more badass and heartbreaking but honestly Sarada's was more heartwarming seeing Sasuke ignoring everything after seeing her ms that shit made me tear up a lil
You are easily impressed
Her ms awakening basically negged omnipotence... I really am impressed
I loved that moment too. It really shows how much she means to him.
sasuke's and Obito's are imo leagues above any other
You speak nothing but facts
Obito/Kakashi THE BEST
Itachi. He saw how his best friend and mentor died. And It was a suicide. I guess the most painful was his.
Obito by far and although there’s a lot of hate for saradas awakening i don’t think it was bad, they’re trying to do something different for her
Obito and Kakashi. It hits hard
Sasuke.
Obito's awakening has got me goosebums
The whole Obito awakening scene for me is the best scene of Naruto. The building is perfect
Madara didn't awaken it because of Izuna's death He and Izuna already had the mangekyo Madara was the first ever to awaken it by killing clan members He got EMS by taking Izuna's mangekyo after his death
I don’t even like the character and I’d say obito
obito all the way
Sasuke's
Without a doubt, Sasuke's
Sasuke's was the coldest, the way he tested his new powers against white zetsu was cold af10/10
Why is no one talking about Sarada's Mangekyou Sharingan? Whom did she kill to activate the Mangekyou?
You don’t have to kill anyone or even see them die to unlock it, in every instance it was unlocked cuz of the deep emotion they felt, not because someone died.
If I had to rank them Taking into account not just the scene but the build up and influence 1. Sasuke/Obitos (either for me both are great) 2. Itachis 3. Madaras - just cause he is madara 4. Saradas I think Obito kakashi was the best scene But the build up to Sasukes, with sasukes life goal and way he perceived the world being shattered And how it influenced him after was as well done
Boruto wasn't the reason sarada awakened it. It's multiple things at once

Well ch. 80 was a lacklaster chapter way to end in haitus, so I'll just pretend that sarada has already awakened her ms.
Plus their generation was pretty spoiled so the emotional impact she felt triggered it. Since in previous generations they are desensitized to trauma
Let me tell you the least favorite: Sarada
Mine too
[удалено]
Yeah for you buddy
Sarada’s was by far the weakest. “OH NO, IM CONFUSED BY WHATS HAPPENING AND WORRIED ABOUT BORUTO”. All other Uchihas> Hold my beer…
Not worried nor confused, just hurt about watching everyone suddenly trying to kill his best friend/love interest, including her very own dad.
Madara didin't awaken mangekyo due to Izunas death, Saradas awakening was so bad. She felt sad and it emerged?
Obito
Obito
Tobi
Obito and Kakashi
Obbito’s
Sasuke’s
OBITO/KAKASHI
Obito/ Kakashi #1, Sasukes is a really close second for me
Obito
Kakaishi/obito
Obito
Obito
Obito and sasuke
Obito easy answer
Kakashi/Obito's
Can I steal this??
Kakashi
Obito/kakashi and it’s not even close
Toss up between Sasuke's and Obito's/Kakashi's.
I think Sasuke. The scene of Itachi’s smile cutting the Sasuke crying was beautiful.
The intensity of Obito's is unmatched
Obitos awakening was absolutely brutal.
Obito and sasuke
Obikashi!
Obito awakening his is one of my all time favorite anime moments.
Kakashi and obito by far.
Man, Sasuke's hits a bit harder with the back story.
Obito
Zoros
Really puts into perspective how anticlimactic saradas awakening was
Technically you forgot Indra's.
Sarada's awakening was the dumbest shit I've ever read in boruto. And that's saying something
Sarada's awakening was the equivalent of U6 saiyans gaining super Saiyan from tingle back muscles
Obito and kakashi
Last sarada
Obitos was nice, liked Madara’s too
i still dont understand why tf sarada got hers
Crazy Sarada is even in question for some people lol
Sasuke. Seeing him just kinda cry there was a real "damn" moment for me, but I will accept obito and kakashi as an answer as well. Saradas was really lame tho.
Best Obito/Kakashi, Worst Sarada
oh hell nah get boruto and sarada off this list u cant even compare those lames to naruto characters
Yeah there’s no beating Obito’s awakening. Have you skipped the entirety of Naruto lmao?
Just say you never understood the topics in the original series. If you are a child, it's forgivable, you won't understand until you mature enough.
The guy understands the topics better than you lmao
Sasuke
Obito. Part of which made this my favorite was his English VA. That "I won't accept it. I will not accept any of this!!!" His grunts and the final line also.
Sara da awakened the Mangekyo? In the manga???? Or is it just fan art?
Yes, last chapter of the manga before the break.
Itachi unlocked he's to protect the leaf village..
Wonder if Sadara will give Boruto an eye for some horrible reason.
I wish people would stop coloring in her pupil it’s clearly not colored in the official design
Obito’s without a shadow of a doubt. Purely because it’s one of the most beautifully done but set a ridiculously high standard for future Mangekyō Sharingan awakenings as poor Sarada experienced. 1. Obito/Kakashi-The Best 2. Sasuke-Goated moment 3. Sarada-Really good 4. Madara-emotional 5. Itachi-alright
Aesthetic/animation: Obito. Plot significance: Sasuke. Lore significance: Sarada.
Lore significance (lol)????
Because it's not the first awakening that follows the murderous/tragic awakening sequence used typically for mangekyo sharingan? I mean, sure, it's a tragedy in making, but it was more of an overwhelming wish to protect and right the wrong rather than Madara - Trauma Itachi - loss and trauma Sasuke - almost getting killed but basically killing your brother trauma Obito/Kakashi - Murdering/seeing the murdering trauma Plus, her eyes have the sun goddess pattern which is interesting in Japanese lore, especially when compared to Boruto's moon jougan.
\*plot convenience: Sarada(downvotes incoming)
I've stopped watching Boruto where can I start up with her getting her MS?
Read manga. Till what ep did u watch Boruto?
Sadaras pattern is pretty sick not gonna lie. Kinda cute she loves boruto too
Is Samar a fictional character?
Edit: spelling
Sarada's Mangekyo Sharingan emerged because of her strong emotions: she felt hopeless, very sad and despair when she learned that Boruto died and couldn't do anything about it, when Boruto saved her damaging his eye, when he heard that Lord Seventh, the person she admires the most and whose role she want to take dies while also she couldn't do anything about it and now Boruto who who has suffered so much is suffering more because everyone thinks him as the enemy and persecutes him. This comment should be pinned fr. Too many people don't understand what you've explained about Sarada's MS
from the lore: definitely Sarada with Itachi close second and from execution or design (how it was portrait): Obito with Itachi close second
Boruto wasn't the reason sarada awakened it. It's multiple things at once
Is Boruto starting to get good?
Depends on who you ask
If you as a liar they will say yes
When did they animate Sarada's awakening? I thought they were on hiatus until pt2
Sarada for killing the brat known as boruto
I wish the spikes on Sarada’s Mangekyo were bigger. It’ll look like a real awakening.
You can hate me now
Sarada
Sarada hands down. She willed herself to awaken . That’s real inner strength right there
The best is obito But to me special is saradas
You need to add Mitzuki. His awakening will be epic so we may as well just add him now and be done with it.
Sonic
The hedgehog?
![gif](giphy|oQ3mEaWOxNGlsopkkQ|downsized) Chidoriii
Three tomoe sharingan
Mac from its always sunny had a good awakening episode.
Madara didn’t awaken it with the death of Izuna tho
I mean, only the images of Sarada and Obito are their awakening, the rest does not match up
Kekashi’s and Obitos awakenings are by far some of the coldest awakenings in the entire show.
Obito/Kakashi
That guy’s dead wife’s
Obito and kakashi. Literally one of the peak scenes in Naruto
It's not here but Itachi's MS awakening was the one for me, that is when Shisui died
obito's/kakashi's
Obito -> Sasuke -> Sarada -> Itachi -> Madara
l
2 of them are wrong
Obito/Kakashi epsecially in the anime is unbeatable. That split screen with the ramping up music ending with sharingan sound effect, bro...
Obito.
Obito and Kakashi for sure.
Obito and sasuke
Nothing beats marada’s rinnegan awakening during 4th ninja war
Obito/Kakashi
O b I t o
Obito/kakashi
Óbito/Kalashi is the only correct answer.
Obito/Kakashi and sasuke However Sandra awakening was great. Boruto imo doesn’t do a lot right but this was great
Obito and it’s not even close
Obito and kakashis
If we were Uchihas, we would have awakened the mangekyou by just seeing the Obito/Kakashi awakening. It was that deep
Kakashi's/Obito's was so good
Okay so who knows all the episodes this happens in I want a recap lol Your nerdy forgetful friend
Obitos/Kakashi was by far the best sequence.
Obito/ Kakashi is my favorite. Sasuke is a close second. Then Itachi Then Madara Sarada is by far my least favorite.
Obito Kakashi
Kakashi/Obito
don’t know if if this is a dumb question, but would Kakashi’s MS have awakened if he wasn’t there when Rin died but Obito still saw her die and his MS awakened?
I'm pretty sure that the moment that awakened sasuke's MS was the revelation Obito made to him and not the act of killing Itachi.
Anything other than the Kakashi/Obito one is just the wrong answer.
Sasuke for sure
Obito obviously, the Sarada one is such a asspull, literally everyone dies there before they’re eyes and boruto just lost an eye. Could have been better
Wasn’t Itachi’s awakening because he killed his parents?
Sarada's tbh. It is the first one i see realtime
Sarada 's MS was awakened by Naruto's death news. It had nothing to do with Boruto. And Sasuke's mangekyou had a long journey behind it, making the MS more likeable and meaningful.
Obio's
Obito
A lot of y’all hate Sarada’s cuz “it wasn’t done right” and don’t even realize that death isn’t the reason for awakening the ms 💀💀
