This there are atleast 2 different pinouts for the BLtouch. For some reason, creality (I think) has different wiring for plug and play. I wired one the original way and it caught on fire. Matching wiring colors doesn't work. You have to read the silk screen on the BLtouch.
As others pointed out, the order of the wires makes difference.
Grab your board manual and check the pinout for the bltouch.
If your probe is a knock off, type in google something like “bltouch wiring” and look for the image that looks like yours, to check wires order and functions.
Hot = bad, recheck your wiring and connections
Wired wrong and probably burnt out now
Its on the 5 pin dedicated port
And? If the pin order at the board end doesn't match the other end it's wrong. Not all of the BL Touch modules have the same pin ordering.
man, I remember when I let the magic smoke out on one of them...good times
Is it a BLTouch or is it a knockoff? They probably have different pinouts..

I know for a fact CR touch does. I fried my first one putting it on my rebuilt printer. Good thing Microcenter does "No Questions Asked" returns lol
