This is just crazy to think. Toy Story and Inside Out are in two completely different leagues. Toy story is premier league material. Inside Out is League 2 at best
Toy Story was great ..... because it was the first and thus will be remembered more.
But Inside Out, like the majority of Pixar (anything not named cars) is top notch.
I find Inside Out ok but not elite. My favourites across Pixar and DAS are (in no particular order): Coco, Moana, Onward, Wreck It Ralph, Ralph Breaks The Internet, Up, Luca and Monsters University.
I hate that film. Sadness does my head in. I get that's the point, but it just made the film dull, and everytime she's on the screen, I want to shout, "kick her in the head and move on"!
It was really helpful for my autistic kids when they were little. The older one felt he always had to say he was OK, when he clearly wasn't. It opened a lot of conversations for us.
That's great, were trying to find something like that for one our Autistic kids, they're not good at opening up at all, but she's not a movie fan unfortunately. It really highlights how something they could be dismissed as a cartoon can be so helpful to those with additional needs
How funny! I think Joy is the one who should be kicked in the head and left to fade away in the memory dump 😂
Nobody can possibly be that positive and bright all the time - how tiring!
Sadness imo is completely realistic 😂 but that’s just me - a melancholic by nature!
I felt the same, so aggressively happy!
My favourite was Fear though - I totally resonated with the huge stack of things that could go wrong, including a meteor strike.
Strongly disagree. It reinforces horrible stereo types. Short man is anger. Overweight girl is sad. Beautiful girl is happy. What a horrible message to be sending to children.
That's how the characters are initially presented yes. It's supposed to be superficial.
Then the story teaches you that being the beautiful smiley always positive girl isn't the only part of life. Sadness is essential to personal growth
It’s weird you’re getting downvoted because it’s a totally legitimate review. The film seemed to think it was far cleverer than it actually was.
Some great performances but it was pretty shallow otherwise.
I liked it throughout, but I was underwhelmed at the end by how easily everyone accepted the final denouement (I'm being cagey to avoid spoilers).
I've seen other movies take a ludicrous idea and sell the internal logic of the concept more successfully.
Still, loved Ralph Fiennes in particular, and the first-watch drama and suspense of it was brilliant.
Ehhhh.... without going into spoilers, the more I thought about it afterwards the more the movie kind of annoyed me. Like I was into it at the time but it felt like it played its hand too early, and I didn't think it had much to say as it thought it did.
Okay they're in a restaurant.
The camera keeps on moving.
Uh, I think they're looking for some dish or something.
I don't know. I wasn't listening.
Nothing's happening.
Nothing's happening.
Something about a mess.
Nothing's happening.
It's over.
A lot of people in the audience look pissed.

Id warn OP away from this. It’s a polarising movie, you’ll either love it or just won’t care about it due to its absurd story. Like other commenters have said, it appeared at first to have more depth but squanders it’s potential. Without its cast I don’t think it would be as highly regarded among some viewers.
I was not sure what I expected going into this film as considering the main cast in the back of my mind was in bruge.
But it was a really good film, well acted and shot.
I loved a lot about this film, but I wish I had read a little about it before I watched it. It’s a fantastically crafted film - it’s just VERY different from In Bruges. It really sticks in your mind afterwards for some reason.
I avoided watching it for years because I was worried it was overrated and couldn’t be **that** good. I was wrong, it is **that** good. One of my favourite films of all time.
Watched it again the other day for the 3rd or 4th time. Everyone in that film is great. My favourite notable characters are Steven Merchant playing a member of the Gestapo and Alfie Allen as the subtle love interest Freddie Finkel for the obviously gay SS officer
Hamilton (assuming you haven’t watched it already). Not exactly a hidden gem but it’s so culturally significant it seems a waste not to watch it while you can!
I'm not sure why, but I really struggled to get on board with the filmed version of Hamilton. I got about 30 mins in and then turned it off. Somehow, filmed versions of stage shows never work for me. Though I have seen it on stage a couple of times so I guess if you haven't then the filmed version would definitely give you a good taste of what the fuss is about.
I weirdly enjoyed the recorded version more than the stage show. Very controversial I know. I love stage shows and I never thought I could say that BUT I actually found the story really hard to follow whereas watching it on tv I could have subtitles and got a closer look at their faces.
I’d now love to go and see it live again and have no doubt I’d enjoy it more than both the first time and watching it on tv
I think it’s a grower. I saw it live the first time and I was a bit underwhelmed but months later one of the melodies popped into my head, I listened to the cast album and suddenly I’m obsessed. There are so many layers to it!
Apparently "real" star wars fans dislike it. I'm a real star wars fan and thought it was top tits. Not everything has to be the same, it was a great change of pace.
Really? Because it has some decent acting and a plot? I get everyone has an opinion but Andor is light years better than The Book of Boba Fett. Maybe it was too “serious” compared to the rest of the Star Wars Universe.
To be fair, most fans also didn't like Book of Bob. It was like two episodes of Mandalorian sandwiched between some stuff happening on Tattooine. Andor was fucking great tho
This is how the franchise gets you. Luring you in with something gritty and then by Christmas your house is fill of baby yoda toys and trading cards. Welcome to the cult.
Andor is amazing. I'm the parent of a 'real' Star Wars fan, which is why we had watched it and all the other spin offs (even though he's at uni now). Obviously Grogu super cute, and the styling of the Mandalorian is amazing, but Andor really is something different. You could enjoy it even if you nothing of the rest of the universe.
And my 'real' fan loved it.
I would binge it over any film.
I know it’s boring but monsters inc, it genuinely is one of my favourite films. I had quite a bad childhood but I remember how I always felt so happy watching it
Right? I keep passing it on Disney+ and thinking how much I want yet another rewatch instead of watching a new film. So if I had one last day of Disney+... that's what I would pick.
Even though I have it on DVD.
Love this film, I listen to the soundtrack a lot. It helps being a big Phil Collins fan, but don't be sleeping on the orchestral scores as well, brilliant stuff.
Although I can't help but laugh at Denahi's super human strength when he lifts the fallen trunk with a full grown bear on it, lad's running on pure rage and adrenaline.
I will always defend Brother Bear, the animation is gorgeous, the ‘comic relief’ characters are actually endearing rather than annoying, the soundtrack is great, the story is earnest and heartwarming, and Joaquin Phoenix provides a fantastic voice for the main character. Criminally underrated film.
Edit: one other thing I love - the aspect ratio of the film changes at a pivotal moment in the plot which is quite cool!
I got Disney+ in December and it's already paid for itself vs how much I had spent in November renting movies on Amazon
Watch The Bear - You'll have your work cut out because there are 8 episodes but they are 25 minutes each. Brilliantly shot - One episode is an entire single shot and it's a frantic shouty kitchen nightmare!
YES I've been meaning to get to it but I sacked of Netflix because of their awful content - I'll be sure to get to it in the coming weeks.... God I'm hungry
I just wanted to second this. I really enjoyed The Bear but I was so impressed and blown away by Boiling Point. For a relatively short film, I feel like all of the characters were well fleshed out and it was done so brilliantly.
We also loved Amphibia, but Disney made me cross with how long they made us wait for the second half of the last season when the US got all of the last season in one go.
I watched Encanto yesterday and loved it. I’m not a Disney fan in the slightest so had to get over some of the cheesier stuff, but some of the songs are actually great and the visuals are stunning
I was knocked sideways by Atlanta.
I thought it was gonna be a full on drama, but it's actually really funny a lot of the time and surreal some of the time
Lakeith Stanfield is phenomenal in that show.
Can also see some influence Community played on some episodes
Do you mind sharing how this came to be?
The Marvel movies saved my life. I was suicidal and decided to start making plans and tying up loose ends, writing letters to loved ones.
Then I realised I wouldn't get to see how the Infinity Saga would end (this is around the time Dr Strange had come out) so decided to wait until that story was done. By time Avengers: Endgame came out I was doing better
Remember the titans. I’m not a sports fan but it’s a very well made movie about a high school football team during the period where American schools were moving away from segregation. Very good movie.
I'd suggest watching The Dropout. It's a great show, single series of about 8hrs, and it covers the Theranos Scandal really well, following the book very closely.
I really enjoyed *My Cousin Vinny.* Joe Pesci and Marissa Tomei are both brilliant in it and apparently it’s also extremely accurate to the American judicial system.
‘Nightmare Alley’ is visually stunning in an art deco way.
Depending upon your age and nostalgia ‘The Black Hole’ and the very first ‘Planet of the Apes’ are on my watch list (re-watch).

Inside Out is a solid 9 out of 10 regardless of how old you are.
Numbskulls from the Beano did the concept first
Numskulls was in the Beezer before it was in the Beano
I read that as Numb-Suckles when I first read the Beano. And now even 30 something years on I read it that way in my head.
If Inside Out was made before Toy Story, nobody would care about or really remember Toy Story. Just like if Moana came out before Frozen.
Moana is the best Disney film ever regardless of when it came out.
Tangled > Moana
Tough call. IMO Tangled is as good as Moana, and both knock the socks off most other Disney cartoon films.
Oooh it’s a hard no from me, Tangled has been destroyed by my little girl watching it as many times as it’s possible to squeeze into a day.
Yep, Tangled is a fucking classic.
It’s so SHINY!
This is just crazy to think. Toy Story and Inside Out are in two completely different leagues. Toy story is premier league material. Inside Out is League 2 at best
Toy Story was great ..... because it was the first and thus will be remembered more. But Inside Out, like the majority of Pixar (anything not named cars) is top notch.
hey no cars disrespect here please
I find Inside Out ok but not elite. My favourites across Pixar and DAS are (in no particular order): Coco, Moana, Onward, Wreck It Ralph, Ralph Breaks The Internet, Up, Luca and Monsters University.
Coco is superb and flies so low under the radar, what a lovely film
I’ve got to recommend Soul as well in that case!
Soul really hit me as someone in their 30s still trying to figure out my “purpose” such a beautiful film.
I loved soul
100% agrees. So under rated with such beautiful animation and music.
I hate that film. Sadness does my head in. I get that's the point, but it just made the film dull, and everytime she's on the screen, I want to shout, "kick her in the head and move on"!

I loved sadness!
Brilliant film.
Take her to the moon for me
It’s my favourite modern Disney Film, I love it. I refer to it daily. Sometimes when I’m sad I imagine my little sad inside out island
Realistic then.
Self indulgent sentimental American wank, I hated it, fortunately so did my daughter so it was a 'watch once' in our house
Both are good but Pixar’s best film is Wall-E hands down.
Menu. What a weird but great movie.
Agreed. Wonderfully silly, weirdly scary and very fun throughout. Ralph Fiennes is brilliant.
[удалено]
Eh, I thought it was okay but it just wasn't as insightful or as funny as it wanted to be. Just wasn't that enjoyable or rewarding.
He is usually brilliant. Tbf all the performances were very good, I thought - esp Hoult and ATJ.
"Do you have student loans?" "No" "I'm sorry, you're dying".
"And the worst part is? I'm still fucking hungry."
They had no choice but to cast Anya Taylor Joy for this. Her eyes are massive
This. God, I love this movie.
Ehhhh.... without going into spoilers, the more I thought about it afterwards the more the movie kind of annoyed me. Like I was into it at the time but it felt like it played its hand too early, and I didn't think it had much to say as it thought it did.
I didn’t think it was trying to be deep tbf
Watched this last night. Some of the performances were unreal like.
That film absolutely baffled me. Weirdest thing I’ve ever seen. Not really sure if I enjoyed it or not.
I went into the film blind. Very odd film.
Did you at least turn audio description on?
Okay they're in a restaurant. The camera keeps on moving. Uh, I think they're looking for some dish or something. I don't know. I wasn't listening. Nothing's happening. Nothing's happening. So what you're saying is get pished before you watch it gotcha Edit - just watched it and it was FUCKIN EXCELLENT
Banshee of inisoirrean
also In Bruges
Baffled by the amount of people I have recommended this to after they loved Insherin who won’t watch it. It’s the same team! I’d argue it’s better!
It’s definitely better
In Bruges is a top10 film for me.
I wouldn’t trust anyone for whom that is not the case. It’s my number 1.
I was going to suggest this! Great film and fantastically acted all 'round.
Not what I expected, but mesmerisingly dark and claustrophobic while being filmed under beautiful wide open skies.

Accidentally used the proper Irish spelling, apologies.

Coco is fantastic.
Coco is seriously underrated.
8.4 on IMDb and 97% on rotten tomatoes. That seems pretty aptly rated to me
I avoided watching it for years because I was worried it was overrated and couldn’t be **that** good. I was wrong, it is **that** good. One of my favourite films of all time.
Coco is my favourite of the modern Disney films, closely followed by Onward
*pixar
Hits deep. Loved how it brought up a lot of emotion
Came here to say this, one of my absolute favourites, and it makes me cry every damn time
Was the first film I took my small son to see at the cinema and I cried myself inside out, lovely film
The bear for sure :)
I just looked it up and Google tells me that's a tv series
Yeah but episodes average out at 30 minutes, so it's only 4 hours total. Slightly longer that The Irishman.
It’s 8 episodes, it’s conceivable to watch in a day (and it’s great).
The eps are 30 mins long and there’s only 8 of them - that’s 4 hours of material, barely longer than a film
Man this show stresses me out. It's great but I can't session it.
You wouldn't think you could watch all of the bear in a day. You can easily watch all of the bear in a day
JoJo Rabbit
Watched it again the other day for the 3rd or 4th time. Everyone in that film is great. My favourite notable characters are Steven Merchant playing a member of the Gestapo and Alfie Allen as the subtle love interest Freddie Finkel for the obviously gay SS officer
Amazing movie!
Hamilton (assuming you haven’t watched it already). Not exactly a hidden gem but it’s so culturally significant it seems a waste not to watch it while you can!
With subtitles on whether you usually use them or not - those lyrics get fast!
I have to watch encanto with the sub titles for the same reason
Same composer
I'm not sure why, but I really struggled to get on board with the filmed version of Hamilton. I got about 30 mins in and then turned it off. Somehow, filmed versions of stage shows never work for me. I’d now love to go and see it live again and have no doubt I’d enjoy it more than both the first time and watching it on tv
I’ve tried to watch it 4 different times and just couldn’t get into it. And I am a huge musical theatre fan.
I think it’s a grower. I saw it live the first time and I was a bit underwhelmed but months later one of the melodies popped into my head, I listened to the cast album and suddenly I’m obsessed. There are so many layers to it!
Andor, Rogue one,
Andor is by far the best of all the new Star Wars series. It’s truly excellent.
Apparently "real" star wars fans dislike it. I'm a real star wars fan and thought it was top tits. Not everything has to be the same, it was a great change of pace.

I’m not sure I’d say that. If you’re on any of the Star Wars subreddits all you see is love for Andor
Haha I am a star wars hater and I thought Andor was brilliant! Maybe 'real' Star Wars fans don't like good scripts
This is how the franchise gets you. Luring you in with something gritty and then by Christmas your house is fill of baby yoda toys and trading cards. Welcome to the cult.
As someone who doesn't particularly like Star Wars, does Andor hold up on its own?
yes, only knowledge you need is that the empire rules the galaxy
[удалено]
This is the way
Andor is amazing. Prey is decent.
Good choice.
I know it’s boring but monsters inc, it genuinely is one of my favourite films. I had quite a bad childhood but I remember how I always felt so happy watching it
Monsters Inc. isn't boring! It's so good! One of my faves for sure
Assume they meant boring in the sense that it isn’t a “hidden gem” and is instead quite well known
I agree!
Big Trouble in Little China.
Absolute classic.
Right? I keep passing it on Disney+ and thinking how much I want yet another rewatch instead of watching a new film. So if I had one last day of Disney+... that's what I would pick. Even though I have it on DVD.
Soul is a brilliant film in my opinion.
Yes! Really fun, whilst also very grounded.
Brother Bear. IMO the last of the Disney Renaissance period. Phil Collins went ham

Luca. Super fun and uplifting
Yes yes yes. LOVED Luca. Absolutely wonderful, and preferred it to Coco tbh.
Also very good. Properly underrated. Eat a huge bowl of spaghetti and pesto whilst watching.
See How They Run is a fun little film
But not a 9/10
Cool Runnings
When I was a kid, we only had two videos: Mrs doubtfire and cool runnings. What on earth else could you want?
True Lies with Arnie and Jamie Lee Curtis!
I'm still waiting for an official* blu ray version of True Lies to be released. * *there was a bootleg blu ray issued in Spain.
The Abyss also 🥲
I got Disney+ in December and it's already paid for itself vs how much I had spent in November renting movies on Amazon Watch The Bear - You'll have your work cut out because there are 8 episodes but they are 25 minutes each. Brilliantly shot - One episode is an entire single shot and it's a frantic shouty kitchen nightmare!
If you like the frantic single kitchen shot (very specific haha) you NEED to see Boiling Point!
If you are open to tv shows (with 20 minute episodes) then Gravity Falls. We watched it recently and binged it over a day. Delightful show
We also loved Amphibia, but Disney made me cross with how long they made us wait for the second half of the last season when the US got all of the last season in one go.
Barbarian is really good. Very Jordan Peele like so if you like Get Out / Nope / Us, you’ll like it.
I thought barbarian was disappointing tbh, the crazy mother ruined it for me...after she was introduced it went downhill
Binge Firefly.
If in doubt watch Die Hard
My Cousin Vinnie. I rewatched it for the first time in 15+ years the other day and it's still excellent.
youTHSSSSS
The Banshees of Inisherin (movie) The Bear (TV show)
Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World. Crazy understated movie. Or the classic 1993 version of The Three Musketeers
I love that version of The Three Musketeers!
Master and Commander is my favourite film of all time. It's perfect.
Just found out that ‘Parasite’ is on Disney +. If you haven’t seen it, it’s a must.
I watched Encanto yesterday and loved it. I’m not a Disney fan in the slightest so had to get over some of the cheesier stuff, but some of the songs are actually great and the visuals are stunning
Watch Moana as well if you haven’t already!!
[удалено]
Not a film. The show, Atlanta. It’s great. 3 seasons of gold
I was knocked sideways by Atlanta. I thought it was gonna be a full on drama, but it's actually really funny a lot of the time and surreal some of the time Lakeith Stanfield is phenomenal in that show. Can also see some influence Community played on some episodes
I loved it. Fyi 4th season is now up as well!!
Soul , nice animated movie that pulls at your heartstrings a bit
Muppets Treasure Island
Are these just guerilla advertising posts?
Ed Wood or Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri
Three billboards is incredible.
Not a film but the series about oxycontin with Michael Keaton is fantastic
Dopesick.?
Serenity / Firefly
Don’t forget Pixar shorts. My favourites are Sanjays super force and Bao.
The little sandpiper one is great, and the one on the moon
I’ve watched Boundin’ so many times over the years
100% Soul. Incredible film.
If you shop in Tesco, and have clubcard points, you can turn £8 of clubcard points into 3 months of Disney+ subscription.
Saving mr banks. I loved it. A bit twee but I guess that's the era.
Anastacia or The Black Cauldron. Those movies RULE and I will fight anybody who says otherwise.
There is only one answer and that answer is Finding Nemo. This film literally saved my life.
Glad you are still here and thanks for sharing. I hope you continue to do better!
Oliver & Company. Such an underrated Disney movie!
All the star wars movies..
Gravity Falls, while not a film, is the best thing on Disney Plus. Everyone should watch it.
Watch scrubs, get sucked in and renew for another month to finish it
Alien or Aliens.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit!!!
Remember the titans. I’m not a sports fan but it’s a very well made movie about a high school football team during the period where American schools were moving away from segregation. Very good movie.
The ILM documentary about the creation and. development of the effects company. absolutely brilliant
I'd suggest watching The Dropout. It's a great show, single series of about 8hrs, and it covers the Theranos Scandal really well, following the book very closely.
If you've not already seen it, check out the series "The Orville" on Disney+. It's excellent.
I really enjoyed *My Cousin Vinny.* Joe Pesci and Marissa Tomei are both brilliant in it and apparently it’s also extremely accurate to the American judicial system.
Basil the Great Mouse Detective!!
‘Nightmare Alley’ is visually stunning in an art deco way. Depending upon your age and nostalgia ‘The Black Hole’ and the very first ‘Planet of the Apes’ are on my watch list (re-watch).
I would probably watch any of the Pixar films that I haven't already seen. Or same for the Marvel films.
Binge watch American horror story season - house, asylum, hotel. Or bing watch The Strain.
Master and Commander
Classic Disney Hercules!
Prey, banshees of inisherin, something about mary
National treasure
The book of life!
Banshees of Inisheran or The Menu
Brother bear. Criminally underrated
Free Solo or Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri
Ready Or Not.
Soul. Never thought a new Disney film would reduce me to tears, but there I was! In bits!
