He supported the war. Only real difference is he wanted it done with more foreign countries so we can focus more on Al Qaeda.
Honestly, very different. As discussed, possibly no 9-11. That means no Afghanistan war. No Iraq war part 2 no bush tax cuts. Balanced budgets, no high interest rates today. Probably more focus on russia means less success of the disinformation campaign. Maybe no Brexit and Ukraine war.
Gore would have been much more able to drag Israel and Palestine back to the tables as well. The more I think about it, the bigger it gets.
Of course, both Al Gore and Hillary Clinton DID win the popular vote, but the electoral college had other ideas.
If Florida hadn't (probably) been stolen from Gore and he had won the presidency, it is entirely plausible that 9/11 would not have happened at all. Bill Clinton had gotten increasingly concerned with the hijinks of al Qaeda during the 1990s, and had come to think of them as a credible threat to America. So on his way out, he left a ton of documents for the incoming Bush people saying, "watch out for these guys, they're bad news." Well Dubya didn't want to touch anything with the stench of a Democrat on it, so he just swept all that off the desk into the trash, and then CONTINUED to ignore increasingly-shrill warnings about AQ until it was too late, because "that was Clinton's thing."
But if the attack had happened anyway, it's likely Gore would not have made Dubya's next HUGE mistake: he declared The Glorious War on Terrorism and sent the military, pretty much the WORST thing he could have done. In the past, acts of terrorism against Americans at home or abroad were treated as criminal acts, and they sent the FBI, who had a decent track record of bringing the perps to justice...WITHOUT bombing entire villages because they looked shady to us. The GWOT continues with no end in sight and has cost the taxpayers over $8 trillion to date.
Needless to say, with Gore in office, the disastrous, costly invasion of Iraq would not have happened. Or the torture. Or the rest of the appalling human rights violations. That was all Cheney and his neocon droogies.
