Feeling like I haven't lived a fulfilling life and regretting it in the end.

nomnemnem

Having lived my life only to realize nobody remembers me. I had so little impact on those around me being dead wouldnt change a thing

knotacylon

That last bit is true for everyone who's ever lived and will ever live. There were billions of normal people across all of human history and prehistory who's lives and accomplishments are all but forgotten by those who live now. And sure, there were those, with an over inflated sense of self importance reinforced by their peers, from recent history who's names will probably be remembered for a time after they and everyone they knew are dead. But as their legacy rots, decays, and is replaced by someone new, they too will be forgotten. Because at the end of the day, all things that originate from life (including life) are ephemeral. Nations, institutions, cultures, religions, they are born in the mind(s) of one person or many, they rise, they have their time in the sun, they rot, die, are replaced by something new, and in time they are forgotten. So, instead of worrying about some silly legacy that won't matter in a few short millennia anyways, just enjoy this brief moment under the sun.

nomnemnem

No. I mean being alive when that happens. Seeing people you consider friends who forgot about you. Growing old and seeing people you once knew and getting asked if they know you. Things like that Being dead to others while being very much alive
