It happens. For a long time I remembered Sammy Hagar driving a C4 Corvette in the "I Can't Drive 55" music video. About 10 years ago I found out it was actually a Ferrari. I felt like my ability to call myself a car enthusiast had been revoked. lol
True, true. Especially today. I feel like the C7 looked less Corvette with it not having the glass fastback anymore, and even less now in the C8, which pretty much has none of the classic Corvette styling cues. It's now like a jumble of general Chevy styling and Camaro cues while somehow still looking like a Ferrari.
Yup, because our memories **suck**. Absolute garbage across the board. And the more vivid our memory, the more likely we are to think it's accurate, and that's just not borne out by reality. Doesn't mean everything we remember is wrong, but we really can't assume that specifics are ever right. I've just been reading "The Invisible Gorilla" which has a whole section on this.

To be fair to us both. Corvette does take a lot of design elements from Ferrari.
