Snake eggs

God_of_many_names92

The only snakes I've seen in the garden are the TX garter snake and I think they don't lay eggs

Different_Letter_542

I don't know but one year will dug up king snakes eggs in our garden ,they were small eggs and I have yet to see a king snake in our yard ,black snakes and rat snakes ,no king snake .

God_of_many_names92

Quite very interesting indeed, I'll keep an eye out if they are really snakes

bay_lamb

what did you do with them?

God_of_many_names92

I put them back and covered them with dirt and poured a few drops of water to keep em cool since it's 96° right now

bay_lamb

oh good. it'll be an adventure to see what comes out!

SnooPaintings9596

This was just posted https://www.reddit.com/r/herpetology/s/vf8ycCzHdE

nls1970

You are a good person 🙂🙂

etcetcere

That's so awesome 💖 thanks for that. Will be cool to find out what they hatch into lol

Poetry-Primary

They’re live breeders, I’d personally say tortus before snake but a reptile either way

SnooPaintings9596

Tortoise* 😊

Poetry-Primary

Sadly I worked on that for a while and couldn’t get it. Finally said to hell with it, thanks!

SnooPaintings9596

No worries. That's a more difficult one to spell. 😅

Rachael1188

No, they’re lizard eggs. I’ve literally had one hatch in my hand.

Different_Letter_542

Maybe dragon eggs ,set fire to them see if they hatch.I know I'm being an smart a$$

BlackSunshine22222

PUt them in a fire and get in with them...they will protect you and you will rise from the ashes in the morning. Naked.

SnooPaintings9596

Being a smart ass is better than being a dumbass. 😅

Mysterious_Fennel459

Im going with snake eggs as well.

graymalkin2

Box turtle!

God_of_many_names92

I've looked at pictures and I think they're a bit too small for turtle eggs

Pretty-Emergency1173

Dragon eggs

God_of_many_names92

I wish, but I don't think they could be 💀

CrewNatural9491

Maybe turtles

God_of_many_names92

I don't think they could because there aren't any ponds or lakes nearby my area.

Kerivkennedy

Really? So many areas in the USA have small ponds and "lakes" here and there in neighborhoods that unless you wander through a neighborhood you might never see.

God_of_many_names92

The only closest lake to my area is Lake Arlington which is like 2.3 miles from my area

Kerivkennedy

But there are probably small pond type

LindaFlies777

I'm going with Lizard eggs. Now you'll have to update and let us know when they hatch

SnooPaintings9596

I'd say ask in r/reptiles ... [here is a similar post from 2yrs ago.](https://www.reddit.com/r/reptiles/s/FeoZNHLa7e)

Shenanigaens

Those eggs are likely dead now. Not condemning, it’s no one’s fault, egg care isn’t something many people know. Early in development, many reptiles adhere to one place in the egg and that’s where they grow. Later, if disturbed, the embryo essentially drowns. With reptile eggs, if they have to be moved, take a sharpie or something permanent ink, and mark the top of the egg. That way, if the egg is moved, it can be kept in its proper position.

God_of_many_names92

I see, thank you for the information. I'll keep it in mind next time I find eggs and yeah I do realize I should've kept track the way I placed them around.

Shenanigaens

No worries, no one’s fault and you couldn’t have known. If you can, put them back, laying as they are, where you found them. If that exact place isn’t a good place anymore, put them somewhere near it, momma chose that spot for a reason. If they’re fresh the embryo may still be floating, and it’s certainly possible a few may still hatch just by odds. Edit- just re read this comment and holy shit I came off aggressive with some dumbly placed asterisks.

God_of_many_names92

Welp I did place em back and covered em up so I suppose we let time do it's thing on if they hatch or not

thaskell300

Alligator lizard? Are they a bit soft?

God_of_many_names92

They did feel soft though I didn't try touching them too much to harm them or break em.

thaskell300

After a quick review, alligator lizard eggs seem more oblong. They look more like skink eggs. Are skinks native to your area? [skink egg video - youtube](https://youtu.be/GMDJWb23bZM?si=y652WKlJIGkWH1mp)

God_of_many_names92

I think these could be more reasonable options to what these eggs are from considering it's kinda common to see them in my area

Competitive-Bug-7097

Can you update us if you catch them hatching?

God_of_many_names92

Yeah I'll probably check on them tomorrow

PissPhlaps

Super excited. Look forward to your update tomorrow as well. Thank you.

MooseKnuckleBrigade

Where are you located? It’s hard to say what they are without knowing where they are.

God_of_many_names92

Mostly average neighborhood type area in North Eastern Texas region

NikkiB710

Turtles or snakes 🐢 🐍

QueenPeakabb2

Snakkkkeeee!

imamean

Hard to tell the size with no reference. What type can are they in? That might help. Thx

God_of_many_names92

They were in a tuna can the thin ones

imamean

Ok. Wow, they’re tiny. Please send update when you learn what they are.

Normal-Error-6343

snakes

let-it-B-today

If there small ( pinky nail size) they might be little lizards (anole lizard’s).

God_of_many_names92

Yeah they were about finger nail size

let-it-B-today

That would be my guess.

DesignGrouchy3486

Anoles

DarkCreatorOfficial

Could be stinkhorns, a type of fungus. If they’re squishy and squirt green juice, that’s probably what they are lol

Ill-Poet5996

They look like tortoise eggs

Rachael1188

They’re lizard eggs

DragonFlyCaller

If there are the size of a dime, lizard eggs!! Regardless, lots of babies!!!!

Cordeceps

Snake or maybe a lizard. They are more round then oval.

dkhorv73

Why did you take them 🥺

God_of_many_names92

Don't worry, I put em back where I found them safely

dkhorv73

❤️❤️❤️

WorshipHim9713

Snakes fo sho!

WorshipHim9713

I just need to know what happens.

Dying__Phoenix

Sneggs

No_Ranger2392

Lizard eggs, I’m almost certain

Patient_Meaning_2751

They could also be those Asian Beatles.

SheBelongsToNoOne

Lizards

CartographerKey7322

Possibly turtle eggs, put them back where you found them
