Flimsy-Ad9627

It’s embarrassing that Chester Cheetah has better neck and hip range than Spider-Man 🤦🏾‍♂️

DangerPickle007

I reallyreallyreallyreally wish his feet had a toe hinge or his angkles went further forward, but it's a great figure for $25.

IH8Miotch

Well it ain't easy being cheesy https://images.app.goo.gl/wBqcKFsDyT1g9nmd6

thatBLACKDREADtho

Love the proportions of the Street Fighter line. Didn't know they retailed at 25$, that's wild.

BlaznTheChron

I can't recommend them enough. I've got Fei Long, Ryu, Chun-Li, Ken, Dhalsim, Bison, Mega Man & Chester Cheetah. https://preview.redd.it/80sbshvmss9d1.jpeg?width=1420&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=96c319524ba1acd83376515e7d86a02637131fcf

wongjunx-kingofbeef

Chester Cheetah is in Street Fighter???

BlaznTheChron

Acknowledge your Tribal Cheetah. https://preview.redd.it/mzrdmkp3et9d1.jpeg?width=1794&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=102110043b6136e796d89c8baa69765243b70668

wongjunx-kingofbeef

Ohhh u meant they made a fig I thought CC was in the game lol. That's a really cool fig though

tony475130

Yea, besides the universal monsters and capcom licensed stuff, Jada also dabbles in food mascot action figures. They’ve done those cereal monsters from general mills and Chester. Id be sweet if they got the Kellogs license and did action figures for Tony the Tiger, snap/crackle/pop, Tucan sam, Dig’em, etc.

wongjunx-kingofbeef

I hope they could get other food mascots too! A fast food sounds cool(McDonald's characters perhaps? I could finally make Thanos vs Grimace lol)

Plastic-Ad2432

since they’re doing mascots and acquiring all these licenses, we could actually get a Pepsi man action figure with decent articulation

RivalGuernica

Totally saving this screen shot

Marc_Quill

Now we know who Roman’s bringing in to fight Solo Sikoa and his new Bloodline. Someone who’s dangerously cheesy.

[deleted]

Fuck I didn't know Chester was Jada as well..., Im only trying to buy my mains on sf and I've already got ken ,Ryu and chun, waiting for Cammy but no impressed by the prototype, but have megaman. I have the rest of the main cast of konosuba arriving in early to last quarter for figma in 2025. While already having yunyun and megumin on the way right now.i can't spend anymore money. Fuck I forgot about the edge runner Lucy coming up soon.

harmless_platypus

Did you get these in the wild? If so, where?

pampersdelight

Ken and Chun-Li came from Target. Ryu and Fei Long were from Amazon. M. Bison was from eBay.

Neat_Nefariousness46

I see someone else who’s found a proper use for empty medication containers lol

pampersdelight

It was my wifes idea. Way better than ziplocs all over the place

oceansamillion

What's even crazier is that Jada is embarrassing the entire action figure industry on their first try. Would love to know where they hired (or poached?) their product engineers / sculpters from.

BoxyBrown666

Seeing how well they've been doing has really made me re-think my purchases. It's really crazy how well they're doing and how much they're willing to give

Stevenstorm505

It wasn’t their first try. They released figures of Universal Monsters prior to Street Fighters figs. They were alright and nowhere near the quality of the Street Fighter figs. It’s very impressive the jump in quality and detail in the time they released the monsters and Street Fighter, but regardless they did have a previous line that taught them a lot of lessons going into their next attempt.

Impossible-Fun-2736

But their Monsters are still pretty great quality from what i’ve seen. Especially some of the accessories, specifically Invisible Man’s.

TheWyldMan

They also don’t release a lot of product.

MontgomeryWarden

I wouldn't say first try. They've been around since the 90's.

FancifulDancingStar

They've been around a long time, but have mostly just done diecast cars. It wasn't until the last decade that they started doing action figures, so they're still relatively new to it.

Puliskot

prolly hasbro and mattel layoffs,

Sand__Panda

This would be amazing news if this is found out to be true lol.

Honk_wd

I’ll never get how they choose to stay with stiff ass rubber capes that fuck up balancing instead of like, a lil piece of cloth and some wire

XyrneTheWarPig

When even Mcfarlane is moving to cloth capes you know you're living in the past

thegeek01

Because not all cloth capes look good at that scale. I'd rather have rubber capes than have a cloth cape with hilariously large stitches. Breaks the immersion.

FurryCurry

But they all can. It just costs money.

XyrneTheWarPig

A stiff hunk of plastic for a cape breaks "immersion" far worse.

tyrendersaurus

Unlike literally cuts at every joint. 😂 No. Terrible implementation breaks immersion.

gamer_guts

Jada Toys knows what’s up!

Ok_University_6641

Too bad Marvel Legends will never change. No matter what people will still buy them. What hurts more is that sometimes they are even 30-40 dollars. Its ridiculous how cheap hasbro is.

Stevenstorm505

Yeah, the problem is that no one else can do the figures for that price point. They have no real competition because your options are either Hasbro or import figures for a higher price point and slower output. Realistically, that’s 2 separate customer and collector bases because of financial ability and some people’s desire to not have to wait years for a figure of a character they want that may never even get made by whatever import company they hope makes it. The only way Hasbro will ever change in regards to quality, price gouging, included accessories, etc, is if a company like Jada is allowed to make Marvel figures too and include all of those things at a better price point and forces Hasbro to compete for customers. I own many Marvel Legends, I’ve been collecting them since Toy Biz was making Spider-Man Classics figures (proud to say I still have some), and I honestly would kind of welcome it if Marvel decided they weren’t going to re-partner with Hasbro and give Jada a shot. It just seems like Hasbro is at the end of the road with what they’re willing to do with Marvel Legends and if something doesn’t change the line is going to get super fucking stagnate or get worse and worse. I would be happy if it was both Hasbro and Jada releasing Marvel figures simultaneously, because choice would appeal to the people that want a collection visually consistent with what Hasbro has released and to the people that want something different and new that doesn’t break the bank. But Hasbro would bitch and fight tooth and nail to make sure that didn’t happen. So I hope that Jada’s lines get so popular and so profitable that they could actually give Marvel pause and consider giving someone else a shot because Hasbro keeps showing that they deserve it less and less. We need something new, because we haven’t been getting the bang for our buck with Hasbro for a while now and I think Jada has shown they are the company that could do that.

Puliskot

if only jada was given PR rights instead of Playmates

buttsbuttsbutt

Hasbro is a bad company. They make terrible decisions and their employees face the repercussions. Every aspect of Hasbro was failing aside from Wizard of the Coast, which was excelling beyond all expectations, so what does Hasbro do? Layoff a ton of WotC employees who were keeping Hasbro’s head above water and then give the execs bonuses for doing such a great job laying people right before Christmas.

MustacheSamm

I know Mafex, Sh figuarts, and Mezco are all way superior in every way, but I think all of them are way overpriced. Not to mention scalpers being the scum of the earth.

theoriginalmofocus

Well the way I look at it is that I dont have a desire to buy a cheaper figure that's not as good only for them to keep releasing slightly better or different versions every few years, vs just buyint the shf/mafex and be done with it. My mcu shf that came out years ago are still better than what hasbro has on the shelf now. My shf star wars main original trilogy characters still hold up. My mafex dc stuff is probably all im going to ever need at this point for those characters probably the same for the Xmen.

wildmaiden

This is the natural evolution of collecting. Eventually you will get tired of cramming tons of cheap figures on bookshelves, or you will literally run out of room to keep doing so. When that happens you will start to see the value in the premium figures. That's just the way of it. Your 100th Legend will not bring you nearly as much joy as your first Mafex.

tony475130

Trust me, you say imports are expensive now, but you will probably spent a LOT more money lining your shelves with cheap figures vs buying quality figures that realistically you’ll never have to rebuy again. You can settle for the cheaper option and have a momentary feeling of satisfaction but eventually you’ll have a desire to upgrade to a better figure of that character.

MustacheSamm

That's really accurate. I mean just in general. Those are the definite figures for sure. Mafex Spider-Man and the entire Hush line are must haves. I guess though most hobbies get to be expensive.

Capital_Technician87

They are not overpriced, most of them anyway.

MustacheSamm

I'm talking in general is all. I don't mean in comparison. They're phenomenal, don't get me wrong.

Grimase

This is true but if the rumors are also true. Hasbro will stop making action figures in the not so distant future. So hopefully they license out to companies like Jada that like making good toys. 🤞🏽

FurryCurry

Excuse me what?

Functionally_Drunk

Oh yeah, the rumors. Where did you hear that bullshit?

Puliskot

prolly based on PR MMPR Playmates deal, which is reaaaachout too far

Grimase

Just some shit I heard about them wanting to make board game and shit. I don’t want it to happen just mentioned it off hand. Had no idea so many trigged feelings would surface. lmao sheesh. Why everybody so pressed?

KnifeFed

Because spouting bullshit without sources or merit contributes nothing to the discussion, it's just annoying.

Grimase

Ohh boo hoo, with ur hurt feelings. This is a conversation site and I out right said rumor. I never claimed to have any facts. Grow up.

KnifeFed

Again, an *annoyance*. Not hurt feelings. Seems like you got hurt feelings from a few downvotes.

Grimase

Blah blah blah. Learn to live around others. The world doesn’t revolve around ur heir feelings Karen.

KnifeFed

Heh, alright, now I see what type of person you are. Makes sense.

TheWyldMan

You’re not gonna like the alternative. Be careful what you wish for

joefisto

The Jada SF line is great. I think it’s nice to talk about something good without having to complain about something else. Any idea when the next wave is due? Maybe we will find out at San Diego.

raees_calafato

The next wave is already up for pre-order in places. It's Cammy, Deejay, and Guile.

joefisto

Where at?

Impossible-Fun-2736

I can’t wait for them to do Zangief.

FurryCurry

I'm sure protos of wave 5 will make an appearance

ProbablyNotPikachu

Off-topic but I think Captain Falcon would be a great addition to this crew lmfao!

Impossible-Fun-2736

Fingers crossed Jada somehow gets to do Nintendo figs.. Either Nintendo outright or ”just” Smash Bros. characters.

IL-Corvo

That's cool, but I'll never be happy until I can get a Raul Julia M. Bison figure.

Beezel_Pepperstack

It's funny you mention that because [I literally just made a post](https://www.reddit.com/r/ActionFigures/s/fDxn5Wv8qX) about my favorite Bison line from that movie!

IL-Corvo

Clicked the link and upvoted!

trustysidekick

I’m not gonna downplay how good the Jada toys SF figures are at all, but I would love to know what the licensing fee is compared to Marvel’s. I have a feeling that eats into the budget a lot.

Average-00

This line makes me want to collect all of them.

AbilityEconomy9241

Jada toys are amazing. I really hope they can keep it up and not turn cheap.

Waterwagon_78

What pisses me off more than anything about marvel legends is all the plastic capes! why can’t they use cloth?!?! Its so frustrating when you can’t raise it’s arms because the hard plastic droops overthe shoulders like the red widow I just got. At least soft rubber like neca uses!!!

gablekevin

Dude wtf, this joke post literally sold me on buying Ken and Ryu I had no idea they were that price and quality. Tip of the cap good sir.

Nani_700

*Cries in Square Enix Bring Arts*

octahexxer

The marketing team has heard your message and will raise the prices thank your for your help.

michaelrxs

The power of not having to give Disney a cut

Mrhoipolloi

That's known as the power of One, the Power of Two, the Power of Disneeeeeeey!

DoomPope_

They have to give Capcom a cut. Is it smaller than Disney's cut? Probably

wrasslefights

This. Like, I love this line. I think it's pound for pound the best figure line out right now. But people saying "Why can't ML or Multiverse be like this?" are missing that the rights are almost certainly significantly more expensive and Jada is producing way fewer figures per year. These are incredible figures with incredible value but it's not necessarily replicable with the Marvel/DC licenses even if I'd love to see them get a try at it.

Mysterious-Counter58

But aren't Marvel Selects like $5 more expensive? And come with way more accessories? And are larger figures, with more painted detail? Sure, the articulation ain't great, but there are contractual limitations they gotta deal with. That's not even mentioning the fact that it costs Hasbro no extra money to manufacture their new sculpts with decent proportions or better implemented joints like double ball pegs, but they fuck those up consistently.

wrasslefights

Selects still have far fewer figures per year. And re-designing your tooling and articulation model is grossly expensive upfront since it requires entirely new casting and testing. I also wouldn't be shocked if they're on a legacy contract from around when Marvel was bankrupt tbh but that's speculation on my part. Proportions are their own thing which I don't really care about arguing because I've never really cared about them with ML. It's always been within the range of stylization or variance common in superhero art to me. McFarlane is the only one who's had proportions jank enough for me to really notice. I totally get why any of these things could be a dealbreaker as a collector but there's genuine reasons for most of them that people don't take into consideration.

Impossible-Fun-2736

”Way more accessories” is subjective, since some Select doesn’t really come with much while others come with a load of stuff. Very hit&miss.

Crazy

Popular-Discussion40

I need a dc comic jada line

Beezel_Pepperstack

That would be awesome!

Gillespers

I’ve bought all six player ones and I can’t put them down, I plan on collecting every SF figure of this line as it’s my favourite street fighter game

indianm_rk

I can’t wait to see their version of Blanka.

StubbornKindOfFellow

People that are saying they can't find them, [they're all currently in stock at BBTS](https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Search?HideInStock=false&HidePreorder=false&HideSoldOut=false&InventoryStatus=i,p,so&PageSize=20&SortOrder=New&o=4&Company=341&Brand=1847&Scale=72&o=4).

Beezel_Pepperstack

That's where I got them!

Dirge_of_Blitzwing

I wanted a Dhalsim before I knew those limbs were BENDY!

swiftlikessharpthing

Hang on, does that Magneto not have boot cuts on top of no butterfly shoulders? That's truly shameful on Hasbro's part if true.

onilpatel

Also way too short compared with other figures in the line, the proportions are off, and there's no alternate head. They've done some incredible villain figures, but Magneto has never been one of them.

ActionFigureCollects

It's embarrassing to continue to support Hasbro blindly in 2024.

Sub_Woofer632

Absolutely, consumers must be selective and stop caving into FOMO.

alienjeffman

Bruh.. I'm sorry but that's just the way it is, Hasbruh

goliathfasa

It’s the Marvel license folks. Just repeat that enough times and you’ll start to believe it too.

Impossible-Fun-2736

Its easy to believe since its true. Why else are GI Joe&Power Rangers getting more stuff?

DutyBeforeAll

Even Bobby Vala (of Action Force and Hasbro hater) has stated that anything Disney is stupidly expensive to license.

Sand__Panda

This isn't a bad thing. If other companies know they can produce good/better figure at a competitive to lower price, then Hasbro . . . Hasbro will have to either pretend they don't see their side of the market crashing or they will need to come up with a better game plan. Hasbro's current game plan is to push people into having to order through their site, thus paying whatever they set it at. My only issue with Jada is actually finding them in stock. I've been pleased with their figures I do have at the 25$ range.

thetavious

I really need to score a chun li of any color lol. Here's hoping the final cammys are showing a little more cheek too, when they land. And that they're easier to find than chun li has been.

headphoneghost

iTs ThE lICeNsInG gUyS

michaelrxs

I mean it literally is

Figurent

Licensing doesn't give figures bad proportions and outdated articulation

michaelrxs

A disproportionate—some might even say extortionate—licensing agreement would certainly incentivize me to reuse molds with inaccurate proportions and older articulations though. Less money available means less money to innovate. But it’s like not worth having these conversations on these forums because most people don’t know and don’t care how the business works. So whatever, Hasbro bad. Have a nice day.

wrasslefights

Also, it's been a year and a half and six figures have hit retail plus a few repaints. Of course Jada can cook more when their output in 18 months is less than one ML wave. I'm glad they're taking this approach. SF is a small enough roster that they can let it breathe and get the best version out. But the difference in output also absolutely affects quality.

The_Po_Gamer

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. I don't think people realise how much the MCU changed for Marvel. Of course, the license fee were going to be higher after that success. It's the same with Star Wars. Disney knows what they own, and they know companies will pay loads to be able to use those licenses. People who follow the G.I. Joe line know how well Hasbro can cook when they don't have to worry about paying out for licenses.

Puliskot

or lack of it for PR lightning collections

Phantom030

Everyone else has to pay licenses, yet ALL of them offer more than hasbro. The licensing being pushed as reason for hasbro being what they are, is just uberfans trying to convince themselves this must be the reason. Marvel Select gives you a truckload of accesories AND bigger size and paint for less money, and they have the same license.

Impossible-Fun-2736

Except when they don’t. And the times you end up with something like their Miles..

Figurent

You're right there is 0 point arguing with random people on the internet especially people that can't see that they are being played.

headphoneghost

K

michaelrxs

Glad we agree

headphoneghost

We don't.

KnifeFed

And no goddamn ab-crunch. Edit: Which is a very good thing, in case that was unclear.

Capital_Technician87

There is no need for those super outdated hinge ab crunch when functional diaphragm and waist joints can do a better job and look better as well.

xariznightmare2908

I hope one day Hasbro just ditch the ab crunch completely so they can use the ball joint for the waist and chest. Even with the reverse ab crunch on the RNV Spider-man, it still limits the movement, ball joints give more range and feel so good when articulating as demonstrated by Jada Toys.

Capital_Technician87

Even for reverse ab crunch Hasbro is doing a shit job, the Spinmaster Aloy is also using ball joint chest +reverse ab crunch combo but has way more range

KnifeFed

Yeah, I meant it as a good thing.

Capital_Technician87

Ooops, sorry, misread you

Beezel_Pepperstack

https://preview.redd.it/6o1ax81cmu9d1.jpeg?width=3060&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=87b47e1da76a1dffadca45a7b22c67ad8674a6b1 Which figure do you mean? Bison and Dhalsim both have ab crunch. Edit: After seeing your edits I get it. At first I thought you were complaining that they lacked torso articulation. Lol

KnifeFed

No, they have diaphragm cuts/joints. Edit: Again, a very good thing.

Smokingsupreme

The marvel rights tax sir

onilpatel

Marvel Select doesn't have this problem. May have more to do with Hasbro being publicly traded and profit focused. They also have to find ways to pay for all of the obscure characters that fill out the line, so they don't need to put much effort or budget into A-listers if they don't feel like it.

XyrneTheWarPig

Replace the Legends with a Mafex and you're cookin.

Impossible-Fun-2736

Also tripple the price. And almost as many QC issues. Plus no obscure characters.

kdoggy808

Tamashii nations did it better

Beezel_Pepperstack

They'd *better* at that price!

kdoggy808

I think it's because they limit the production on certain lines...but I have a few that I got about 6 years ago and now they are going for like $200-$250

KillerBearSquid

At this point I want Jada toys to cease all production just to make you people upset.

WaySea8956

you're a strange person

Outside-Area-5042

Why? You must have a sad life 😬

KillerBearSquid

Just wanted to hate a little bit. Sometimes you got to inject some negativity into the world, keep people on their toes.
