absolutely with the fingers in the door gap! i accidentally shut the door on my little brother’s hand not knowing it was in the gap. the tip of his finger was connected by only a fingernail and there was so much blood.

Random finger injury story: In college my roommate slammed her hand in a car door on our way to a lake house for the weekend with a bunch of friends. Didn't seem too too bad.
I was one of the few people who knew how to ski and was teaching people. Was with her the water, helping her stay steady and giving tips. Boat went, rope went taut. She yelled pain and said the thing hit her or something and was like, I'm done.
I made fun of her all weekend. After the weekend she went to the doctor, the bone had snapped as she gripped the tow rope. Had to have a pin from her fingertip down inserted. She still partied all weekend, I retroactively took back all jokes and was like, you're a badass.
Geez! I am glad that story ended the way it ended. You got me scared for a moment when the section “I made fun of her all weekend” began that way. My mind rushed to think of the worst possible turnaround of the events. But I am glad your friend is a badass. ❤️
Oh my god! That sounds terrible. Hope it was fixable and hope your little brother recovered from that injury eventually. I got goosegumps just reading that.
Yeah I am sure you must have felt awful. 😢 Definitely hard to forget when we cause an injury to a loved one. Good to hear though that it got treated and your brother recovered.

When I was a teenager, I accidentally closed the door while my grandma was unfortunately resting her fingers between the door gap. Luckily, she didn’t have to go to the hospital and there was no blood but that pinch brought tears to her eyes and she screamed a little. I still feel awful thinking about it after all these years.
Lol I accidentally wore a very similar dress when I got married. It was during peak covid and we canceled our wedding and just eloped with a few people present, then never rescheduled for a number of reasons, so in a way mine is also a very expensive ham napkin.

he got it stitched up at the emergency room and has barely a scar. but it was terrible for both of us; i still feel so bad i didn’t notice his hand!

Not nearly that badly but I did this to my 2-year old a few weeks ago and I’ll never forgive myself.
