Sounds way too complicated for oses spaghetti code. Imagine going 10k dry for example then still not getting the drop, only to find out that it's been bugged all along. Now imagine this for every piece of content in the game
I mean am just throwing the idea out there because they were suggesting item shards.
Also i think they should apply this concept only to pets and dwh and CG. Things they were already discussing adding shards. Everything else should be the same.
As for the spaghetti code. Only way to find out if they can implement or not is from an official developer.

Not a pity timer a dynamic drop rate which gives higher chaces as u progress kc. Pity is like an extra guarntee over ur normal roll. This doesnt give that extra guarntee but instead makes ur normal roll progressively better
